EE 127-01 Information Theory
Characterization of stochastic signals and description of communication channels, measures of information of signals, fundamental coding theorems and the generation of efficient codes, measures of channel capacity, transmission through noise-free and noisy channels, coding for error detection and correction. Applications of information theory to spectral estimation, image processing, and spread spectrum systems. Analysis and comparisons of digital communications systems.
Prerequisites: EE 108 or consent.
