EE 136-01 Antennas for Radar, Avionics, and Communications

Definition of fields, radiation patterns, sources, linearity, and superposition. Antennae parameters: gain, effective aperture, beamwidth, sidelobes, impedance, polarization, and bandwidth. Radiation: electric dipole, multiple sources. Transmission lines and waveguides. Radiation from discontinuities, slots, and horns. Techniques of antenna measurements. Theory of antenna arrays.

Prerequisites: Senior or graduate standing in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
