EE 193
Parallel computing (a.k.a. high-performance computing)
Resources
- Instructor: Joel Grodstein, joelg@eecs.tufts.edu
- Office Hours: Mon, Wed 2:00-3:00 (i.e., an hour before class), or by appointment in Halligan extension room 11. To get there, first go the Windows PC lab (room 122). Keep going to the end of the aisle and then turn left. Go past the vending machines and up the very short flight of stairs to enter the extension. Room 11 is the last room on the right, after you go through the extension's big common room.
- Please send all class questions (e.g., clarifications on
assignments and labs, scheduling issues, etc)
via Piazza.
- For emergencies or private matters, please e-mail or see me directly.

Assignment logistics
- For programming homeworks, all of the library code can be found in
/ee/193STP/public_html/HW/code/*cxx,*hxx.
- You should compile your multiprocessor C++ code with c++ -pthread -std=c++11 -O2 your_file.cxx ee193_utils.cxx
- You can use any Linux box in rooms 116 or 118 to debug your C++-threads homeworks (i.e., HW1-HW3). Before you collect benchmark data, you should reboot the machine to ensure a consistent environment. Please do not use the machines in room 120; they are older systems with fewer sockets, cores and threads.
- HW4 uses a GPGPU. All of the Linux machines in the two main Linux labs have GPUs installed; just sit down at any free machine and use it.
- Turn in your homework via Provide at this link.
- Use Piazza for questions about homeworks/labs. It will get you faster turn around time.
- All logistics will be posted to Piazza.
