Welcome to the LaISR.

The research in LaSIR is centered around the development and validation of inverse and image processing methods for addressing problems in fields including medical and geophysical imaging, surveillance, and nondestructive evaluation.  Specific application areas where we have and continue to work include

Our efforts in all of these areas involve a variety of tasks drawn from a diverse range of fields including

  • Signal and Image processing
    • Statistical estimation and classification
    • Multiscale methods including wavelets
    • Shape-based methods including active contours and level sets
    • Segmentation
  • Inverse Methods
    • Image formation
    • Object/shape estimation
    • Regularization
    • Parameter selection
  • Physics
    • Electromagnetic and acoustic wavefields
    • Diffusive processes
    • Computational Methods
  • Applied mathematics
    • Numerical analysis
    • Differential geometry

We are a laboratory in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Tufts University in Medford MA. The lab was founded by Prof. Eric Miller.  Our work has been supported by a variety of agencies of the Federal Government as well as local industry in the Boston Area.
